Mental Health and Wellbeing

Mental health is a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community,” (World Health Organization).
At Emmanuel Holcombe, we are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff to ensure that the school is a community where everyone feels able to thrive. Positive mental wellbeing is essential if children and young people are to flourish and lead fulfilling lives.
At Emmanuel Holcombe we have a wide range of activities, events and programmes to support pupils and staff with their well- being. We have a non-teaching Inclusion and Mental Health lead, Mrs Thomond; we have a Mental Health Practitioner based in school one day a week; we also have a Mental Health Trauma Informed Practitioner based in school 4 days a week and Emmanuel Holcombe is an an accredited Emotionally Friendly Setting.
In addition we run whole school 'Well-being Wednesdays';
orgainse theme weeks and as part of our PSHE curriculum
we use Twinkl and My Happy Mind.

Forest School
Our school runs a Forest School Programme, led by our in-house Level 3 qualified Forest School leader, Mrs Hughes.
Forest School sessions are ran in small groups, within our grounds, and the benefits of these sessions are boundless.
