Languages at Emmanuel Holcombe
Our objective at Emmanuel Holcombe is for our pupils to develop a love of languages and a curiosity and tolerance of other cultures. We are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of other nation’s languages and we are committed to ensuring that children develop key language learning skills, as set out by the national curriculum.
We teach French at Emmanuel Holcombe. The languages curriculum ensures students listen to, read, write and speak another language. French is taught in blocks and through theme weeks to allow children to immerse themselves in the language. French is also taught daily through classroom instructions, conversational language and songs. Children learn about additional languages and cultures through theme weeks and topic work.
