Outdoor learning

At Emmanuel Holcombe we believe that outdoor learning is an essential part of our curriculum.

Outdoor learning can improve our well-being - physical, mental and emotional. Many studies report that the combination of a diversity of play experiences and direct contact with nature has direct benefits for children’s physical, mental and emotional health and that free play opportunities in natural settings offer possibilities for restoration, and hence, well-being.

We ensure that our curriculum is progressive and enhances the children's experiences in the wider environment to enable them to play an active role in their community.
