Children in the Foundation Stage develop their historical skills, knowledge and understanding through the area of learning ‘People and Communities’ which involves supporting the children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment. These activities are delivered through planned adult led activities that follow the children’s interest and through providing a range of media and materials for them to explore independently in the continuous provision.
